Christmas & Easter

Christmas

First of all, nowhere in the Bible does it say to make a holiday of the Saviour's birth. The Bible does specifically state we are not to cut down a tree and decorate it (Jer 10:2-4).

The Bible tells us we are to take on Yahshua's righteousness to receive the Holy Spirit in order to enter into the Body of Yahshua (Col 1:18-24, Eph 1:22-23,4:4,16), that we must be born again (John 3:4-5). Additionally, to achieve this eternal state requires knowledge according to Yahshua, "...this is life eternal, that they might KNOW that Thou (Yahweh) only art the true El (Elohim or God), and Yahshua the Messiah (whom the world calls Jesus Christ), whom Thou has sent" (John 17:3). Click here for more about the true names. Isaiah 28:9-13 says Yahweh teaches us knowledge, "...precept must be upon precept...line upon line...here a little and there a little...". Knowledge, requiring proof, leads to faith (Heb 11:1) without which it is impossible to please Him (Heb 11:6). Therefore, since knowledge of the TRUTH is the goal then we should look to the Bible for the Saviour's birthday rather than follow blind traditions.
Can We Learn from the Bible When Yahshua Was Actually Born?
It is definitely possible to learn from the Bible that December is not the month of Yahshua's birthday. A little research into the Hebrew calendar is necessary and will provide the knowledege that when Gabriel went to Mary (Miriam) in the 6th month (Luke 1:26-27) it was September (Elul) or six months from the passover month of Abib or April which is also the first month of the year according to Yahweh (Ex 12:2; 13:4). Counting 40 weeks or 9 months from September takes you to June (Sivan) as the time of the Saviour's birth, spring time, the time of rebirth.

Additionally, if we accept the fact stated in Rom 5:14 that Adam is a type or figure of the Saviour and that according to Yahshua himself His earthly mission was one of fullfilling the Law and Prophets (Matt 3:15, 5:17; Luke 24:25-27 & 44) we can see that Adam being created on the 6th day (Gen 1:26-31) necessitates Yahshua being born on the 6th day of June or Sivan.

Further, June 6, or the day of Sivan 6 in the Hebrew Calendar, was also the day the 10 Commandment Law and Tabernacle Pattern came to earth.
When they left Egypt it took 3 DAYS to reach the Red Sea. Further, Ex 19:1 states that it was IN THE THIRD MONTH "in that same day" the Israelites reached Sinai (this would be June 1 or Elul 1) - that took 47 DAYS after they crossed the Red Sea. As instructed by Moses who was told by Yahweh that they should, then Israel spent 3 DAYS cleaning up (Ex 19:10,11) for a total of 53 DAYS since they left Egypt.

Then Yahweh spoke to them the 10 Commandments (Ex 20:1-17), on Sivan 6 or June 6. Later after they had cleaned up on that 3rd day after arriving at Mount Sinai and after the Israelites asked Moses to speak to Elohim because it frightened them to hear Him themselves (Ex 20:18-19), Moses drew near "...unto the thick darkness where Elohim was" (Ex 20:21) on the mount and was told by Yahweh Elohim the other 603 judgments and ordinances Israel was to live by (the rest of the Law of Moses or First Covenant). On that same day Moses delivered the information to all of Israel and a covenant was made, ratified with blood (Ex 24: 6-8).

On that same day, right after the ratification of the covenant, Moses left the other 73 elders on the plateau of the mount (Ex 24:9-14) to go all the way to the top of the mount (Ex 24 1:1-2) where he stayed for 40 days and nights and during which he was shown the creation (Ex 24:16 at the colon is where Genesis 1:1 comes from - the creation was shown to Moses in replay), given the tables of stone (Ex 31:18), and received the plans for the Tabernacle Pattern (Ex 25:8-9) which is a shadow of the "heavenly things" ( Heb 8:5), which is Yahshua or the Holy Spirit (John 14:26). 1490 years later Yahshua came Himself to earth, again on Sivan 6 or June 6, as the Messiah in a specially prepared physical body (Heb 10:5 KJ is more correct than HN) to save sinners by fulfilling the law given at Sinai and offering Himself up ONCE (I Peter 3:18; Heb 9:28) as the perfect sacrifice in atonement for the sins of the world (John 3:16; Heb 9:all,10:1-12).

Yahshua fulfilled the prophecy of coming by a virgin (Is 7:14; Matt 1:18; Luke 1:27) which was foreshadowed by Adam's creation from virgin Mother Earth on which no sin had yet been committed. Click here for a study on many other prophecies Yahshua fulfilled.
Not Only Was He Born on June 6 (Sivan 6), He Poured Out His Holy Spirit, on June 6 (Sivan 6)
Yahshua resurrected 3 days after the Passover where He was the sacrifice to end all sacrificing, resurrecting a life giving spirit (). He was seen by men for 40 days (Acts 1:3) at which time He ascended in order to break up His spiritual body as He had promised (at the last Passover supper where He said His body was bread John 6:51) which was then poured out 10 days later on Pentecost, June 6, 53 days after His death (Acts 2:4). Since he died physically on Passover as the Lamb of Yahweh (John 1:29), was buried 3 DAYS (3 periods of dark and light as per Gen. 1:5 which included a phenomenal day because it turned dark when he died at 3 p.m), and resurrected at dawn on the 3rd day (period of light Matt 28:1-6), then was seen for 40 DAYS (Acts 1:3) after which He ascended and 10 DAYS later poured out the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, we know quite well that the day when the Holy Spirit was poured out, (Law of the Spirit came to earth for anyone to consume who would believe on Him that sent it), was Sivan 6 or approximately June 6. So:
  • First the so-called Law of Moses and the Tabernacle Pattern around which Israel camped and had to come for forgiveness (a physical type and shadow of Yahshua the Messiah who is the Holy Spirit) were given on Sivan 6 or June 6, 53 days from Israel departing from Egypt.
  • Then 1490 years later, as prophesied (Dan 9:24), Yahshua was born in the flesh on Sivan 6 or June 6, proved by New Testament history, which was literally the Law of the Spirit of life come to earth in a physical body.
  • 53 days after Yahshua who is the Holy Spirit (John 14:26) died a physical death and resurrected 3 days later, He ascended and poured out His spiritual body (the Holy Spirit) onto Israel (Acts 2:4) on Sivan 6 or June 6.
  • Seven years later the Holy Spirit was given to the gentiles (Acts 10:44) to fulfill the promise given to Abraham that all the families of the earth would be blessed by the seed (singular) that came from his loins (Gen 22:18).
Then Who Was Born in December?
Before going to Mary (Luke 1:18), Gabriel was seen in a vision in the Holy Place of the Temple by the Priest Zechariah during the Abiah (Abib)Temple course of service. Gabriel told Zechariah his wife would become pregnant (Luke 1:13) when he returned home from his course of Temple service (Luke 1:5). Zechariah was also told the baby would be a son and he was to call him John (Luke 1:13). Zechariah found difficulty believing this because his wife had been barren and they were both "stricken in years" (Luke 1:18) and he was struck dumb for his lack of faith (Luke 1:20-22). He regained his voice when John was born in order to state that the baby's name was John (Luke 1:63-64).

Later during Gabriel's visitation to Mary to announce her impregnation by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35) in the 6th month, September or Elul, he also tells Mary her cousin Elisabeth is already 6 months pregnant (Luke 1:36) which Mary confirms by a visit (Luke 1:39-42). When she sees Mary, Elisabeth confirms that Mary carries the Saviour (Luke 1:41-42). John being 6 months in the womb, we simply count 3 months from September to see that John the Baptist was born in December, in the dead and buried time of winter, not Yahshua the Messiah.

John came first because he was the one prophesied to "make straight the paths of the Messiah," the forerunner to Yahshua's ministry as had been prophesied (Is 40:3-4; Malachi 3:1, Luke 3:4, Mark 1:2). John was sent to baptize in water, bury or immerse, Israel who was dead in its sins (Romans 6:23), unto the death,burial and resurrection of Yahshua the Messiah (Col 2:12-14). John said he immersed with water but that one would come who would immerse with the Holy Sprit and fire (Matt 3:11). The scribes of the day were expecting someone to come "in the spirit of Elias" as prophesied but they did not recognize John the Baptist as the one fulfilling this prophecy (Matt 17:10-13).

Further, John played the same role to Israel as Moses had 1490 years before when all Israel was baptized unto Moses in the Red Sea (Cor 10:1-2) getting them ready to receive the old covenant or law. Israel was a sinful nation having lived about 400 years in Egypt (Gen15:13) and learning about their many gods. It was to point out sin as exceedingly sinful (Romans 7:13) that the old law was given as a schoolmaster (Gal 3:24) which also provided sacrificial remedies, in the case of some sins, so the sinner would not have to pay for his/her sin with the penalty of physical death: the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).

The old covenant had to be fulfilled by Yahshua, born under its laws on a mission, among other things, to be baptized to fulfill righteousness (Matt 3:15) and ultimately to die a physical death for our sins in our place, so that old law could be set aside (Col 2:14) in order for a new covenant to be ushered in (Jer 31:31-34, Heb 10:9) that could save a soul rather than a physical body. Even if they could have kept the old law, that they demonstrated for 1490 years they could not which caused them to receive many curses (Deu 28:45), the blessings it brought would not have saved their souls: it was a physical law which could only save physical bodies, it was a shadow (Heb 10:1,9) of Spirit Law which is eternal .

Israel was still under the Old Covenant or Law, as was Yahshua who was of the Tribe of Judah, House of David, as prophesied (Gen 49:10, Ps 122:5; Matt 1:1), which lived under the Law of Moses that included immersions in water. Later when the Holy Sprit was poured out (Acts 2:4), that old covenant was ended and a new age or world, a new dispensation, a new covenant came into being between Yahweh and mankind with Yahshua's blood as the sacrifice for ratification which blotted out the previous law (Col 2:14). This change in covenants had been propesied in Jer 31:31-34, that a day would come when His law would be put into the hearts and minds of men. John prepared the way to end the old covenant ushering in the New Covenant or Testament which had to have the death of the testator to come into effect (Heb 9:16-17).

Easter

First of all, no where does it say to make a holiday of the Saviour's death, burial or resurrection and the word Easter appears only one time in the King James Bible, Acts 12:4, where the translaters replaced the Greek and Hebrew word for Passover which is when Yahshua the Messiah died. His resurrection was the day of the wave offering, the first day of the week which was Sunday and why Easter is always celebrated on Sunday instead of the vernal solstice where it began.

Yahshua was the sacrifice to end all sacrifices forever. He was the Passover lamb of Yahweh (John 1:29) according to John the Baptist. What He did ushered in a new age (or world) and a new covenant (Jer 31:31-34), and that happened at Pentecost, 50 days after His resurrection. Click here for more about the Ages and Dispensations.

Passover is Abib 14, approximately April 14, so the actual date is close to modern day Easter but the word Easter implies something else altogether. It is a pagan tradition celebrating the spring solstice that goes back millinia. It was incorporated into Christianity as a celebration of the Messiah's resurrection in an attempt to bring more people into that church around the second century A.D. The word itself, Easter, comes from Eostre (a feritlity goddess) which is probably a Saxon derivation of the word Ishtar, the Babylonian high mother goddess. The celebration of Easter involves the painting of eggs which are a fertility symbol in pagan festivities. The celebration is simply pagan in origins, all of which go back to the first Babylon prior to the confounding of language and scattering of people by Yahweh (Gen 11:9).

It is an interesting thesis that the Nicolaitians of Rev. 2:6,15 are actually the clergy and laity who keep alive the pagan celebrations of the Babylonian religions with variations down through time.
